Star Records Artists Continue to Sing on a Higher Note in 2012

Star Records Artists Continue to Sing on a Higher Note in 2012

Star Records, ABS-CBN’s recording outfit, is set to release six new albums early this year from its top-selling recording artists namely Angeline Quinto, Jovit Baldivino, Juris, Aiza Seguerra, Jericho Rosales, and Piolo Pascual.

Fresh from her successful US concert tour, ‘Queen of Teleserye Themesongs’ Angeline Quinto remains relentless this year as she is all set to release her much-awaited sophomore album entitled “Fall in Love Again.” From being the first ‘Star Power’ Female Pop Superstar grand champion, Angeline has managed to steadily climb up the music royalty with her powerful interpretations of today’s most-requested hits including “Patuloy Ang Pangarap,” “Kunin Mo Na Ang Lahat Sa Akin,” “Saan Darating Ang Umaga,” “Hulog ng Langit,” and “If You Asked Me To.” Aside from receiving a platinum certification for her first album “Patuloy Ang Pangarap,” Angeline has already earned several recognitions from various award-giving bodies under her belt—24th Aliw Awards’ ‘Best New Artist,’ 33rd Catholic Mass Media Awards’ ‘Best Secular Song’ for the song “Patuloy Ang Pangarap;” and 3rd PMPC Star Awards for Music’s ‘New Female Recording Artist of the Year’ and ‘Song of the Year’ for “Patuloy Ang Pangarap.” She is currently one of the mainstays of “ASAP 2012” with a regular segment title “Angeline on Q.”

Like Angeline, Jovit Baldivino is set to launch a new album this year. He, together with Star Records, is now in the process of song selection for his third music compilation. Recently, Jovit was presented with a triple platinum award for his debut album “Faithfully” and platinum award for his second record titled “I Did It For Love.” The first grand winner of ABS-CBN’s nationwide reality talent search “Pilipinas Got Talent” was named ‘Best New Artist’ by Aliw Awards in 2010. Some of Jovit’s hit songs include “Faithfully,” “Too Much Love Will Kill You,” “Ika’y Mahal Pa Rin,” and “Mula Sa Puso.” He is currently a mainstay at “ASAP 2012” as part of ASAP Pinoy Champs.

Meanwhile, ‘Acoustic Pop Sessionista’ Juris carries on enchanting her beloved listeners not only in the Philippines but also in other South East Asian countries as she is set to be positioned to be the “Soothing Voice of Asia” with the launch of her third album this year. Her latest album produced by Singaporean company S2S will be an all-English repertoire that would cater to the wider South East Asian market. Juris’ solo singing career started with Star Records. Her first album “Juris: Now Playing” has achieved the platinum status while her second album “Forevermore” already reached gold. Her hits include soothing renditions of well-loved Filipino ballads like “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin,” “Don’t Say Goodbye,” and “Forevermore.” Juris performs every Sunday in “ASAP 2012” as part of the ‘ASAP Sessionista.’

Singer-songwriter and Juris’ fellow ASAP sessionista, Aiza Seguerra is bound for a grand celebration this 2012 as the launch of her latest album coincides with her 25th anniversary in showbusiness. Aiza’s newest record will feature her new songs and compelling collaborations with various OPM music icons. Aiza’s top-selling albums include ‘Para lang Sa Yo,’ ‘Open Arms,’ ‘Aiza Seguerra Live,’ ‘Perhaps Love,’ and ‘Songs From The Vault.’

Not to be left behind among Star Records’ top-selling artists are two of ABS-CBN’s most brilliant singer-actors Piolo Pascual and Jericho Rosales who aside from launching the most-awaited primetime drama series titled “Dahil sa Pag-ibig” are off to release their latest records this year.

After his successful platinum album “Change,” Jericho is excited for his new ‘baby’ with Star Records. His second album will once again feature his ‘alternative OPM’ kind of music that features all-original tracklist with two remakes. It will be notable collaboration with top notch producers from the industry. Jericho bagged the ‘Song of The Year Award’ in Star Awards for Music 2010.

On the other hand, Philippine showbiz’ ‘Ultimate Heartthrob’ continues to take his fans on a different high with the running success of his “Decades 1” and “Decades 2” albums of classic foreign songs. “Decades 1” has attained gold record status while the second has achieved six time platinum status. Completing the successful music trilogy will be Piolo’s highly anticipated OPM edition of the “Decades” project.

Watch out for the grand launch of the latest music compilations of the biggest and brightest Star Records artists soon. For more updates and online song downloads, log on to www.starrecords.ph.

Angeline Quinto denies getting plastic surgery (Philippines)

Angeline Quinto denies getting plastic surgery (Philippines)

MANILA, Philippines – Since being declared champion in singing contest “Star Power” last year, pop singer Angeline Quinto has made strides both as a performer and with her image as a celebrity.

Quinto denied, however, that she had gone under the knife to improve her appearance, but had no qualms revealing other measures she takes to look every bit the pop star.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, the “Pangarap” singer admitted she gets weekly glutathione (skin-whitening agent) treatments from celebrity dermatologist Vicky Belo.

“Wala pa po akong pinaretoke, pero sa totoo po eh linggu-linggo naman po ako nagpapa-gluta kay Dra. Belo, at saka cleaning po, ‘yun lang po talaga ‘yung ginagawa sa'kin ni Dra. Belo,” she said.

The physical changes that come with Quinto’s new-found celebrity, it appears, is as evident as the changes in her life since her big win a year ago.

Changes
“Sobrang dami po [ng changes] eh. Unang-una, sa totoo lang po, mas dumami ‘yung kamag-anak ko po ngayon kasi,” she said.

“Kasi ‘yung mga dating ‘di ko naman po kilala, ngayo’y sobrang lapit na po sa akin at saka lalo sa nanay ko. ‘Yun po ‘yung unang unang napansin ko.”

Whether the sudden expansion of her kin is something Quinto sees as good or questionable, she didn’t say, but inarguably, the singer is thankful for the better quality of living her career affords.

“Masarap po talaga sa buhay ngayon kasi mas nakakaluwag at mas naibibigay ko po ‘yung mga kailangan ng pamilya ko,” she said.

But the comfort and ease of living are not without some sacrifices, Quinto said.

“Sobrang hirap po pala balansihin. Hindi ko alam na ganito po. Ang hindi nila alam ‘yung pagod po talaga, na minsan wala ka nang oras sa sarili mo lalung-lalo na sa pamilya mo,” she said.

“Parang syempre dapat po naman hindi lagi trabaho, dapat may oras ka rin para sa sarili mo, na minsan hindi mo maibigay, dahil sa dami ng iyong ginagawa,” she added.

'You Light Up My Life'
Currently, a factor in Quinto’s life that has a larger share of her time is dramatic actor Coco Martin. On the current status of their relationship, Quinto said, in jest, “Hindi pa [kami ni Coco], hindi pa po. Ewan ko ba diyan sa tao na yan. Tagal tagal ko nang nanliligaw eh, nung nakaraang taon pa nga eh.”

“Pero okay naman po kami ni Coco ngayon, magkaibigan parin po kami kaya lang medyo matagal po kaming hindi nagkita dahil nga po sobrang busy rin niya sa ‘Walang Hanggan.’”

For her launch as a film actress, Quinto is sharing the big screen with Martin in Star Cinema’s “You Light Up My Life.” The erratic schedule of the film’s shooting has led to speculations of its cancellation, but Quinto denied this to be the case.

“Hanggang ngayon naman po tinutuloy namin ‘yung pelikula. Medyo na-stop lang din po nung December hanggang January dahil po sa ‘Walang Hanggan,’” she said.

“Pero ngayon pong February at March, nagtuloy na po ulit kami, saka alam ko po kasi malapit na po ‘yung play-date niya kaya medyo minamadali na pong matapos. Siguro po sa bakasyon ay maipapalabas na,” she said.
