Phoemela Baranda has revealed she has a daughter who's already 15 years old.

According to the article on examiner, actress/host/model Phoemela Barranda was brought to tears as she recalls the memories of her mom that passed away several years ago after suffering a stroke before slipping into a coma. According to Phoem, her mom got mad at her when she got pregnant at an early age. Based on her revelation on The Buzz (or Buzz ng Bayan in Filipino translation) this afternoon, Oct. 27, 2013 (Philippine time) her mom told her to hide her pregnancy because of her modelling career.

"My mom told me to hide my pregnancy because I was modelling at that time, Phoemela Barranda revealed as she wipes her tears. Phoemela narrated that she was forced to go to the United States just to hide her pregnancy. At that time, she was just 18 years old. Phoem stayed in the U.S. for almost a year, and when she came back to the Philippines, she introduced her daughter as her nephew.

"At first, I introduced Kim as one of my nephew and when she turned 5 to 8 years old, I introduced her as my sister," she explained. The actress/host/model admitted on The Buzz that her relationship with Kim was difficult at first, but when her mother passed away due to illness, Phoemela revealed that she decided to take all the responsibilities to Kim. On the other hand, Kim revealed that she is ready for anything after the revelation of her mom. "I was raised to be strong," she said.

The identity of her daughter's father however was not revealed in the interview.

The Philippines representative to the Miss Universe 2013 shines among the 27 chosen candidates who participates in the Tony Ward Couture Fashion Show held on October 26 at aroun 8:00 PM (Moscow Time). Based upon the video footage of Ara Arida she is one of the most applauded models during the cat walk presentation.

The 24-year-old Ara Arida looked fierce during the Tony Ward Couture Fashion show at Mercedez Benz Fashion Week Russia. She performed well during the presentation, although she is not that tall compared to the other fellow Miss Universe contestant but she gave justice to the designer’s creation.

Ara Arida modeled two of the designer’s creation, which she carried with such sleekness that would surely convince anyone who was inside the venue aside from enticing the prospective buyers to wear the dress she presented with utmost fashion.

Aside from Ariella Arida, other contestants who stands out among the rest of the chosen candidates in my own opinion were Miss Spain and Miss Jamaica. Based upon the online information we gathered during the Tony Ward Couture Fashion Show, the top five Miss Universe candidates who made an early impressions were Miss Spain, Miss Jamaica, Miss Philippines, Miss Poland and Miss Venezuela.

Aside from the five mentioned candidates above, joining them in the Tony Ward Couture Fashion Show were candidates from Australia, Romania, Singapore, Ukraine, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Panama, Sweden, Turkey, India, Great Britain, France, Japan, Spain, Belgium, Canada, El Salvador, Austria, Lebanon, Russia, Thailand and USA.

Walking for the fashion show doesn’t affect the candidates’ scores in the Miss Universe 2013 beauty pageant but those who participated were considered as frontrunners in the competition.

Hello readers, there is a good news for you all. PBB regular and teen editions will take place at the Abreeza Mall in Davao City. This will be organize by ABS-CBN on October 26 to 27.

The Kapamilya network says teens aged 12 to 17 years old may join the auditions for the reality show from 8AM up to 3PM on Saturday. This was said in Thursday's press release.

Francis Magundayao Joins Aryana Cast

Teen actor Francis Magundayao who shot to fame after portraying the role of young Alfred (Piolo Pascual) in Dahil Sa Pag-ibig opposite Ella Cruz is said to be joining the cast of hit early primetime fantaserye Aryana, where Ella is the lead star.

Francis was last seen on a Kapamilya drama last March with his very first MMK episode with John Manalo. He also appeared on ASAP last August 12 for Ella Cruz's sweet 16 birthday celebration.

On Monday, Aryana director Erick Salud shared a photo on Instagram showing a new character that will be joining the series. Direk Erick hinted that this new character will be having a pivotal role in our teen mermaid's life.

The guy in the photo is none other than Francis Magundayao, easily identified by that stroke of thick eyelashes. The management might have seen the potential of Francis-Ella (FrancElla) team up that's why they are bringing Francis in.

Francis Magundayao will be a surprise addition in the cast, considering that Ella Cruz has already two leading men, Paul Salas and Dominic Roque. However, his role is not known yet but surely, it will have a connection on Aryana's character.

Are you excited to see Francis Magundayao on Aryana. FrancElla fever will be back with the latest addition of this talented guy in the series. 

Aryana, which is extended until January next year, airs weeknights before TV Patrol.

One of the eight official entries in this December’s 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is The Strangers to be topbilled by Enchong Dee, Julia Montes and Enrique Gil.

And it’s somehow what’s making Enchong happy at the moment. After The Reunion (which is still currently showing in theaters nationwide), he is not going to miss Julia that much because they will soon start filming the MMFF movie which is produced by Quantum Films.

Enchong has open admiration for Julia and he is vocal that he is willing to wait until the Walang Hanggan actress turns 18 when she can already be courted.

But despite his being vocal about his love for Julia, the two weren’t paired as a love team in The Reunion. Star Cinema instead paired Julia with Enrique, and Enchong with Jessy Mendiola.

Will things be different in The Strangers?

The storyline hasn’t been dropped yet but Enchong recently revealed that the movie will be more action and horror and with a subtle approach to romance. And considering the lineup of lead stars, we’re sensing a love triangle between the three.

Enchong also said that he has been working out in preparation for the movie because he will be showing some skin! It’s something to look forward to for his fans, but then of course we know we can’t really expect him to shed a lot of clothes because of his image.

But the more interesting question is, will love bloom for the two while doing their second movie together? Or more specifically, will Julia give in and disregard her 18-year-old rule? We know a lot of you are wishing Enchong the best of luck because he looks such a good boy who deserves a good love life.

The Strangers, however, will need a lot of promotional strategies because the movie will be facing such big productions (not to mention bigger stars) in the festival this December. To find out the other movies included in the 2012 MMFF.

Meanwhile, Enchong will soon be seen on primetime TV via the upcoming ABS-CBN soap Ina, Kapatid, Anak, where he is teamed up with Maja Salvador.

KZ Tandingan sang Linkin Park’s In The End in the Top 10 performance show of The X Factor Philippines. Rock songs was the night’s theme.


KZ, who belongs to the Girls category mentored by Charice, did a slow version of the Linkin Park song and it was well-applauded and was well worth to be the final performance of the night.

She was well-commended by the judges for what she showed. Martin Nievera even said that she was the only one from among the Top 10 who showed them that rock and roll was really an expression from within.

Meanwhile, Pilita Corales was happy with the change in KZ’s look, but Gary, who called KZ’s performance genius, missed her sneakers.

Zsa Zsa Padilla diagnosed with kidney cancer

Still grieving over the death of her long-time partner Dolphy, singer and actress Zsa Zsa Padilla has more bad news. As if things couldn't get worse, the 48-year-old Padilla told ABS-CBN News that she has been diagnosed with stage one cancer.

She has a malignant growth the size of a golf ball inside her kidney, her doctor at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California have told her. "The first time I saw Dr. Folkes, he immediately told me it was malignant. So when I heard that word 'malignant,' I said, 'Oh man, I have cancer.’ I went back the next day for blood work and a scan and it showed the same thing -- almost a 3 centimeters growth -- and he advised for it to be taken out," Padilla said.

Last Saturday marked 40 days since Dolpy's death. Friends and family gathered to pray for the well-loved Filipino King of Comedy at St. Patrick's Church in North Hollywood. Unknown to the many guests, the grieving widow, who arrived in Los Angeles last week, remains devastated.

She hasn't spoken much since the death of Dolphy. "Talaga I'm still in denial. Part of me is still in the stage of denial. Then I try to recall everything that has happened – [him] getting sick, being in the hospital, staying in the ICU - everything up to his death. But part of me still feels I'll see him again," she said.

With Dolphy's death and this recent news of her illness, Padilla said she remains steadfast in prayer. She said it has put a lot of things in perspective and she's already made a bucket list.

Despite the circumstances surrounding her, Padilla said she wants people around her to stay positive. "This is the first stage. Once it's remove, I'll be cancer-free. I'm going to take care of myself and eat well," she said.

Padilla will have a surgery on August 27 at Cedars Sinai. If it goes well, she will be out of the hospital in two days and will be back to work in a month. Padilla added that once she becomes a cancer survivor, she hopes to raise awareness.

For most people, having their husband pass away and immediately being diagnosed with cancer would be too overwhelming. Padilla, though, is committed to staying strong. She said she is looking for the challenge and ready to live life day by day.

MANILA, Philippines - For the first time, actress Angelica Panganiban went public in hinting that there is something between her and actor John Lloyd Cruz.

On Sunday, Panganiban posted a photo on her Instagram account showing she spent her day with Cruz.

"Welcome,happiness. Joy,pursued. Welcome everyone. Especially those who are smiling out of warmth," Panganiban said in the photo's caption.

The actress also described the picture as a "perfect Sunday."

Just last week, Cruz refused to comment on the issue linking him to Panganiban.

The actor insisted there is nothing to talk about his love life.

Both stars have been consistent in denying that they have a relationship.

Panganiban recently broke up with actor Derek Ramsay while Cruz just called it quits with actress Shaina Magdayao.

Barely a month after the death of her long-time partner Dolphy, Zsa Zsa Padilla reveals that she is battling health issues of her own.

An abnormal growth was discovered in the singer’s kidneys by her Makati Medical Center doctors. According to reports, the growth was the size of a ping-pong ball.

Zsa Zsa, who has just returned to ASAP 2012 on Sunday, said she will be flying to the United States soon to consult with Dolphy’s nephrologist at the Cedars Sinai Hospital. Her friend, celebrity doctor Vicki Belo, will be going with her. Belo has also offered to pay for the expenses.

The Divine Diva, however, is hoping that she won’t need to go under surgery. And that’s where she’s asking everyone’s prayers for.

Actress Maja Salvador finally ended speculations that she and boyfriend Matteo had broken up. Maja Salvador confirmed the break up on Kris TV,  August 3.

Before Maja's admission that she and Matteo had already ended their relationship, many speculates about the break up since the actress tweeted quotes about heartaches.

It can be recalled that Maja and Matteo neared calling it quits after the Star Magic Ball controversy between Matteo and Coco last year which involved the two in a fistfight because of Maja. That issue made Maja admit that she and Matteo were already a couple at that time.
