‘Bagyong Sendong’ (Storm ‘Sendong’) - PAGASA Reports (Philippines)

According to PAGASA, just ten days before Christmas, a weather disturbance approaches the country and threatens to dampen the celebrations especially in the southern part of the country.

‘Bagyong Sendong’ has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and is forecast to intensify in the next 24 hours. According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), latest location bulletin of ‘Bagyong Sendong’ (Tropical Depression ‘Sendong’) places it at 840 km East Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center. ‘Bagyong Sendong’ is forecast to move West Northwest at 30 kph.
Forecast Outlook for the next three days: Friday morning: 300 km East Southeast of Surigao City | Saturday morning: in the vicinity of Iloilo City , Sunday morning: 295 km West of Coron, Palawan.
“Based on forecast, (the tropical depression) will make landfall on Leyte-Surigao area on Saturday morning,” according to PAGASA. Metro Manila may be affected on Saturday or Sunday.
