Gurpreet Ghuggi to make youth aware of unsung heroes (India)

According to Indian Express, apart from making people laugh with his comedy acts, Gurpreet Ghuggi is all set to make Punjabis aware about their unsung heroes. Ghuggi along with Bollywood Actor Akshay Kumar will be bringing out a movie in Punjab soon. Ghuggi revealed this to Newsline in Jarkhar where he was invited by the sports academy.

He said, “Our youngsters are not aware about the history of our heroes like Hari Singh Nalwa, Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, Madan Lal Dhingra, Baba Baghel Singh, the details of Gadar lehar and the heroes involved in this lehar who sacrificed their lives, Kama gata maru movement and much more. Though I am advocating my producers to take the subject seriously, I have taken initiative and will be bringing out a movie in collaboration with Akshay Kumar, who is very keen to do something for Punjab.” 

Also, apart from producing the movie, Ghuggi also aims to act. Ghuggi said that it is important to laugh a lot, “but at the same time, it is important for us to know about our history. Punjab history is hardly taught to students in schools.”
