Transport groups have set a nationwide transport strike on Thursday, March 15, 2012, reportedly to protest the rising cost of petroleum products. Some schools and universities already announced suspension of classes.
The Department of Education announced that discretion to suspend classes is with the respective local government units.
“As per agreement in the TRASMA meeting, LGUs shall take the lead in suspending classes tomorrow should there be a need to do so,” the education department in its Twitter account (@DepEd_PH) posted Wednesday.

- According to GMA News, the DepEd announced that classes will be suspended in all levels in ParaƱaque and San Juan;
- Far Eastern University (FEU) Manila and Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) Diliman have also reportedly announced suspension of classes.
- @MMDA: Number Coding is in effect tomorrow. MMDA, AFP, DOTC & other gov agencies will deploy Libreng Sakay if needed.

- Santa Isabel College
- Miriam Grade School
- National University (elementary and high school)
