Kony 2012: Uganda Gov't Makes Video Response - WORLD

>
“The Kony 2012 campaign fails to make one crucial point clear - Joseph Kony is not in Uganda,” prime minister Amama Mbabazi said in a 9-minute video posted on YouTube.

The video is the Ugandan government’s response to the viral video “Kony 2012 ‘Invisible Children’,” a U.S. celebrity-backed online campaign to arrest the notorious rebel commander.

“Uganda is not in conflict” Mbabazi stressed, adding that “Uganda is a modern, developing country which enjoys peace, stability and security.”

The prime minister insists that Kony 2012 viral video does not represent the current situation in Uganda.

Aside from his video, Mbabazi also tweeted, using the hashtag #KonyisntinUganda, 20 celebrities including Angelina Jolie, George Clooney, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Rihanna an invitation to visit his country.

“As PM of Uganda, I appreciate your interest and invite you to visit. We have peace, stability and great people” he posted on Twitter.
