My Kontrabida Girl A Flop? (Philippines)

> Rumor has it that GMA Films’ “My Kontrabida Girl,” starring Rhian Ramos and Aljur Abrenica, which premiered March 14, flopped.

But there are unconfirmed reports that the romantic-comedy movie earned P4 million on opening day so it looks like it isn’t a flop.

You see, Star Cinema’s rom-com offering “My Cactus Heart,” starring Matteo Guidicelli, Xian Lim and Maja Salvador, reportedly had a first 5-day box office gross of P10.9 million.

A gross ticket sales of P4M in one day, if the reports are true, is not a measly income. In fact, it’s quiet an achievement.

GMA Films has to reveal how “My Kontrabida Girl” faired at the box-office to clarify the issue, don’t you think so?
