Should Bloggers Be Taxed?

> In early February 2012, finance secretary Cesar Purisima ordered the Bureau of Internal Revenue to increase the income tax payments of self-employed individuals.

Recently, it was reported that the BIR will focus in collecting taxes from self-employed persons so the agency can attain its target of P1.066 trillion revenues this year.

We’ve also heard that there is a proposal to tax bloggers in the Philippines.

We would love to know your opinions on the following questions:

• Should blogs or bloggers be taxed?
• Are bloggers considered self-employed individuals?
