Brigada Eskwela 2012 Starts May 21 (Philippines)

> The weeklong Brigada Eskwela, or the conduct of the National Schools Maintenance Week being implemented by the Department of Education nationwide to give emphasis on the importance of health and sanitation in schools, will start on Monday, May 21, 2012.

According to reports, DepEd will be mobilizing parents, teachers, students, civic and business groups, religious organizations, local government units, non-government organizations and other community residents for the annual school maintenance program.

The schools will not accept cash, only donations in kind such as repair/construction/cleaning materials and/or services.

Everyone should note that joining the activity is voluntary and is not a pre-requisite for enrollment.

Brigada Eskwela 2012, DepEd says, will go on until Saturday, May 26
