Good news! Jessica Sanchez made it to the American Idol 2012 grand finals. She will compete against Phillip Phillips next week.


During the results night on Thursday, May 17, AI host Ryan Seacrest first announced that the 16-year-old Filipina-Mexican singer is safe. Later, he congratulated Philipps.

America has bid goodbye to Joshua Ledet, who has been eliminated and came in third place in the 11th season of the show.

On Wednesday, Jessica performed Mariah Carey’s “My All,” Jackson 5’s “Ill Be There,” and Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing.”

Despite a challenging performance night when she suffered a sore throat, the votes coming from her fans and supporters worked as she was able to enter the American Idol 2012 grand finals.

Jessica Sanchez once again was applauded not only by her supporters but for millions of fans who were watching her performing, one of Aerosmith’s most popular song “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing.”

Randy Jackson: “You’re choosing some tough songs. It started a little slow for me but you delivered a big moment.”

Steven Tyler: “You just took a great song and made it greater.Beautiful.”

Wednesday’s “American Idol” revealed more than half of season 11′s Top 24.

Fourteen singers, six male and eight female, received the good news after impressing the judges with their final solo performances.

Among those moving forward to next week’s semifinals are early favorites Reed Grimm and Phillip Phillips, as well as repeat contestant Baylie Brown.
