“I am a mother first,” says Kris, dubbed the “Queen of all media.”
“On Saturday, Dec. 24 after the Parade of Stars to usher in the Metro Manila Film Festival, may Mass kami(We attend a mass). For security reasons, we have to stay inside the church. Maaga ang ‘Noche Buena’ namin ng mga anak ko kasi ang mga kapatid ko, may mga in-laws, so normally at 10 p.m. tapos na kami(Our Noche Buena is early with my sons and my brother and sisters with their Parents –in-law, so normally it’s over by 10 p.m.),” she said..
On Sunday, Christmas Day, Kris will be with her sisters and some celebrity friends.
“Lunch time kasama ko ‘yung mga sisters ko. Ang mga kapatid ko - di ko na inabala si Presidente Noynoy - will join me and Dingdong Dantes and Direk Joyce Bernal doon sa first screening of 'Segunda Mano.'
Because there’s no premiere night, they all agreed na ang reunion namin will be sa sinehan on the 25th (I will be with my sisters lunchtime. I will not bother President Noy. With me are Dingdong Dantes and Director Joyce Bernal in the first screening of “Segunda Mano. Because there’s no premiere night, we all agreed on a reunion in the movie house),” Kris relates.
"After that, Bimby will go with his dad (James Yap) because tomorrow,on the 26th, (we will leave) ay aalis kaming mag-iina,” she adds.
It’ll be a “white New Year” for Kris and sons Joshua and Bimby as they are all set to fly to New York City after Christmas Day.
“It was my promise to them mula nung napanood nila yung Smurfs to go to the Central Park and to watch 'Spiderman' on Broadway,” she says.
Early this week, the TV host spearheaded a relief operation in Cagayan de Oro for the victims of typhoon 'Sendong' that wreaked havoc on Northern Mindanao. Kris, along with other celebrities, visited the towns of Consolacion and Balulang to distribute relief goods, including boxes of shampoo, soap, and other products that she endorses.
"Sorry ha, uy, ‘yung mga magpaparada sa Dec. 24 sa Metro Manila FilmFestival (MMFF), huwag kayong magalit sa akin, dinala ko sa Mindanao ang mga shampoo at sabon (Sorry, those in the parade of stars, I took the boxes of shampoo and soap to Mindanao)," Kris jokingly says.
