Junrey Balawing of Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte, who was named the world’s smallest man by the Guinness World Records last year, has been invited to go to Italy for a photo shoot with tallest man Sultan Kosen of Ankara, Turkey.
Balawing, 18, stands 1-foot-10 while 29-year-old Kosen is eight feet and three inches tall.

“May imbitasyon ang mga Balawing, si Junrey at dalawa pang kasama – bale ‘yong mga magulang niya – papuntang Italy. Inaasikaso ito ngayon ng munisipyo,” he told ABS-CBN News in the local dialect.
Junrey was excited upon hearing the news as it will be his first time to ride a plane.
According to Junrey’s father, Reynaldo, Sy told them of the invitation last Monday.
“Tinanong niya ako kung gusto ba namin. Sabi ko naman na gusto,” he said.
“Sobrang saya ko nang malaman kong pupunta kami ng Italy,” added Junrey’s mother Concepcion. “Baka kasi doon namin makikita ang magandang kapalaran ng aming pamilya."
The Balawings are scheduled to leave for Italy in April. They are expected to stay there for two weeks.
