Forbes Billionaires List 2012: 6 Filipinos in

> Forbes World’s Billionaires 2012 was released Thursday, March 8, 2012, with 6 Filipino tycoons making the list.

Forbes magazine published the record number 1,226 billionaires in 58 countries all over the world, with combined net worth of $4.6 trillion.

Carlos Slim Helú of Mexico is still No. 1 for the third straight year with wealth of $69 billion, $5 billion less than last year. Bill Gates of Microsoft Corporation is close second at $61 billion.

3. Warren Buffett – $44 billion
4. Bernard Arnault – $41 billion
5. Amancio Ortega – $37.5 billion
6. Larry Ellison – $36 billion
7. Eike Batista – $30 billion
8. Stefan Persson – $26 billion
9. Li Ka-shing – $25.5 billion
10. Karl Albrecht – $25.4 billion

Added to the world’s billionaires list were 128 newcomers, including two from the Philippines – Eduardo Cojuangco of San Miguel Corporation and Roberto Ongpin of Alphaland Corporation.
