Janine is the pageant’s first runner up last year. She had to resign as runner-up to compete this year.
Janine is a Pharmacy cum laude graduate from the University of Santo Tomas (UST). In 2010, she was the Miss Pharmacy and Miss UST title holder.

She was hardly noticed in the course of the competition, but in the Question and Answer (Q & A) portion, she impressed the judges with her answer.
Pageant judge Jose Manuel Rodriguez asked: “Many women nowadays forego a happy family life for a successful career. How do you feel about this?”
Janine answered with confidence and ease, saying: “I believe that women have the right to choose between what they want. But for me, just go for what God wants you to do. Between the two, whatever it is, you must do your purpose in this world. Just have a child-like faith and mature obedience, and everything will go smooth.”
