JM De Guzman To Debut As Lead Actor In ‘Pedro Calungsod’ Movie (Philippines)

> JM De Guzman, who plays Angelito in the ABS-CBN teleserye of the same name, is set to make his acting debut as a lead actor in a movie which will feature the life story of Cebuano martyr The Blessed Pedro Calungsod.

The Kapamilya actor was very excited to reveal that the independent production will start rolling its cameras most probably in October, which is just in time for Vatican’s declaration of the Blessed Calungsod’s sainthood.

“Yeah, tuloy na! Wala pang exact date na mag-i-start, pero ang sabi sa akin, ang target date is October. Another big opportunity kasi first leading role ko sa movie, so excited!” JM gladly said in a recent interview.

The singer-actor added that he will make the necessary preparations for the movie, saying “Kung may mga kailangan akong gawin, gagawin ko for the role. Paghahandaan ko talaga ito nang mabuting-mabuti, ire-research ko siya.”

The Blessed Calungsod, a 17-year old Filipino catholic who served as a catechist and suffered persecution and martyrdom while doing missionary work in 1672 in Guam, is scheduled to be canonized on October 21, 2012.
