Melai, whose real name is Melisa Bunayog Cantiveros, was born in 1988 in General Santos City to Dionisio and Virginia Cantiveros. She is the third of four siblings and the only daughter.
This bubbly young lady is the 5th female Big Winner of ABS-CBN’s hit reality show “Pinoy Big Brother” where her tandem with then co-housemate and now boyfriend Jason Francisco dubbed as “MelaSon” started and clicked.
Her most recent appearances on the Kapamilya network were on “Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Mana Po” where she played Brandy De la Paz, and “Pinoy Big Brother: Unlimited” as a guest housemate.
On Good Friday, April 6, 2012, the term “Happy24thbirthdaymelai” became one of the trending topics on social networking site Twitter, occupying the 10th spot of Philippine trends.
