The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that as of 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2012, the ALPA was located 310 kilometers East of Borongan, Eastern Samar embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
Experts stated that these weather systems will bring cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rains in Visayas and Northeastern Mindanao.
Residents living in low lying areas and along mountain slopes have been advised by PAGASA to be on alert for possible occurrence of flashfloods and landslides.
Weather reports on television say there is a 60% to 80% chance that the weather disturbance will become a tropical depression.
