Corona’s Wife Leaving The Country? (Philippines)

> An allegation that Chief Justice Renato Corona’s wife, Cristina, is leaving the Philippines on Saturday is circulating via SMS.


According to Yahoo! News Philippines, a text message coming from mobile number 09152936123 was sent to reporters on Thursday, May 17. It read:

“Please verify. Cristina Corona booked for Qatar Airways, flight QR647 to Barcelona, May 19, 6:20 p.m. Do we have extradition with Spain?”

Qatar Airways confirmed the existence of the flight but, due to security guidelines, could not comment on whether Mrs. Corona had booked a flight, the report said.

The camp of Chief Justice Corona, who is presently facing an impeachment case at the Senate, reportedly denied the rumor.

Mrs. Corona is not barred to travel since there has been no charge filed against her.
