Freddy Mercury is trending worldwide. It’s supposed to be Freddie, but why?

> It’s been hours and “Freddy Mercury” is still trending worldwide on Twitter as of this posting. The deceased Queen vocalist’s followers complained for the mispelled name but thanked the tweeople for sort of honoring their idol.

So why is Freddy Mercury trending?

The most possible reason is MTV Newsroom’s article about Queen members not embracing the idea of having it’s frontman brought back to life via a hologram.

The report said that the legendary band made it clear that fans won’t be seeing a digital Freddie Mercury on stage. Instead, Queen will bring in “American Idol” alumnus Adam Lambert to provide vocals for their concert tour at summer in the US.

Queen drummer Roger Taylor reportedly said the band will “never be performing” alongside a holographic image of Freddie.
