Iligan City bombing on May 5, 2012 Updates (Philippines)

> A bomb exploded in Iligan City on Saturday night, leaving 2 confirmed dead and estimated 20 persons injured.





According to unconfirmed reports, the bomb was left inside a Toyota Avanza parked near the crowded El Centro. As of posting, 2 has been confirmed dead – a certain Jan Jan Dumalagan, a street vendor and a 20-year old Janulan.


Victims were brought to Mindanao Sanitarium and Hospital, Dr. Uy Hospital and Gregorio T. Lluch Memorial Medical Center (GTLMH).

El Centro is one of the busiest places in the city, especially on weekends because of various band performances and night jamming.

The Iligan City police department is yet to release official statement and initial investigation regarding the incident.

- Per police report a grenade was thrown from a speeding white Tamaraw FX near the junction of Roxas and Quezon Avenue at about 7:55PM Saturday.
