Bagyong Butchoy (international name: Guchol), the second typhoon of the year, is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Thursday evening, June 14, 2012.

Weather experts said that as of 2:00 am Wednesday, June 13, the shallow low pressure area (SLPA) was spotted 210 kilometers East of Northern Mindanao.

Strong to gale force wind is expected to affect the seaboards of Luzon and the western seaboard of Visayas, the weather bureau said.
