Butchoy Intensifies Into A Typhoon

> Butchoy has intensified into a typhoon and is now moving in a North Northwest direction, PAGASA reported on Saturday, June 16. Fortunately, weather experts say there is no indication that it will make a landfall.

As of 11:00 a.m. today, Typhoon Butchoy was spotted at 470 km East Northeast of Borongan, Eastern Samar with maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph.

It is moving North Northwest at 15 kph.
