Call Me Maybe Viral Videos

Call Me Maybe, the song by Canadian Idol Season 5 third placer Carly Rae Jepsen, has already been covered by several artists, including Katy Perry, Big Time Rush, Ashley Tisdale, Justin Bieber, and Selena Gomez since its release last year.

Call Me Maybe, according to reports, has attained commercial success worldwide and is already one of the biggest hits of 2012, reaching number one in Australia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, New Zealand, Scotland, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States, while peaking inside the top five in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway and Poland.

In the US, the track has reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and the Pop Songs chart.

As part of promotion for the song, Carly performed live on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards.

According to Coolbuster, the following music video portrays Jepsen trying to gain attention from her attractive neighbor, who is revealed to actually be attracted to a male band member at the close of the story.








The music video for Call Me Maybe went viral online, getting almost 107 million hits on YouTube as of this posting.

Videos inspired by the original one are also getting attention from internet users; some of them spreading virally on entertainment websites, blogs and social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook.

Celebrities and personalities from television, radio, movie, sports and politics including Jimmy Fallon, The Roots, and Carly Rae Jepsen, Ted “Golden Voice” Williams, the Harvard baseball team, SMU women’s rowing team, the Today show hosts, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez and company, Katy Perry, James Franco, the Ateneo women’s softball and volleyball teams, Georgina Wilson, Solenn Heussaf, Anne Curtis, Liz Uy, Manny Pacquiao and US President Barack Obama among others were featured in mashups and memes.
