On Tuesday night (Wednesday morning in Manila), Fil-Mexican Sanchez will sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” before the start of the first game in the NBA finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Miami Heat.
She said in her official Twitter account on Tuesday that she is already at the airport en route to Oklahoma City.
“So tired lol. In vegas, heading to oklahoma :)” she said.
Asked by a fan on what to expect from her in the coming days, Sanchez said: “Well NBA tomorrow, #idoltour, and working on upcoming album :).”
This would be Sanchez’s third appearance singing the US national anthem after “American Idol.”
Sanchez led the singing of the American national anthem during the PBS Memorial Day concert in Washington D.C. last May 28.
Most recently, she showcased her vocal prowess in singing the “The Star-Spangled Banner” ahead of the Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley fight in Las Vegas on Saturday (Sunday morning in Manila).
Sanchez, whose mother is a Filipina, said she also hopes to sing "Lupang Hinirang" before a big crowd soon.
