The fateful game match at the Staples Center was decided in the first period, in which the Kings converted scored three unanswered goals on powerplay.
Dustin Brown, Jeff Carter and Trevor Lewis added their names to the scoreboard for the home side.
The teams exchanged goals in the second 20 minutes, with Carter completing his brace and Adam Henrique sweeting the pill for the Devils a little bit.
The win saw the Kings claiming the final series with a 4-2 scoreline and claim their first ever Stanley Cup.
"They've been waiting longer than I have, this city," Dustin Brown, LA’s captain, told NHL.com. "You dream of winning the Cup, and you know what, I'm glad I was the first King to ever lift it."
The Kings entered the playoffs as underdogs, but the eighth seeds then produced one of the most spectacular postseason runs in League history.
"I don't know, I can't even describe it," Willie Mitchell, LA’s most senior player at 35, stressed. "Everyone played road hockey as a kid. We had a green garbage can that everyone would go around and pose with it."
"We just did it for real, baby. This is awesome,” he added. “It has been a good journey. We faced a lot of adversity this year, but we found a way to dig ourselves out the hole and get to this point. It is pretty unique."
Darryl Sutter’s men were instrumental at home and even more dangerous on the road as their single away defeat came only in Game 4 of the final series.
And there will another Russian name engraved on the Stanley Cup as defender Slava Voynov contributed into LA’s triumph, with one goal and two assists in 20 playoff appearances.
