North Korea’s Kim Jong-un is married to Ri Sol Ju, state TV says

> orth Korean leader Kim Jong-un is married to a woman who was identified as Ri Sol Ju (some reports write it as Ri Sol-ju), as announced by local state TV on Wednesday, July 25, 2012; ending speculations about a beautiful lady whom he was with in recent events.

According to Xinhua News Agency that day, state media of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) confirmed that Kim Jong-un has a wife, who joined him in a completion ceremony of an amusement park in Pyongyang on Tuesday.

Apparently, there were no further details mentioned about Kim Jong-un‘s wife as well as their wedding date, except that Ri Sol Ju was first seen in public with the young leader early this month in a concert in Pyongyang, which included a display of Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters.

As noted at ABC News, KCNA (Korean Central News Agency) mentioned Ri Sol Ju as Kim‘s wife four times, during their broadcast at 8 p.m. (local time). She was seen wearing a black skirt with a burgundy jacket in black heels, with a short hair and appeared to be in her 20s or early 30s.

Early last week, KCNA also reported that North Korea Army Chief Ri Yong Ho was fired from all his posts due to unspecified illness and was replaced by Hyon Yong Chol, two days later; with some observers believing that the change could be a part of a power struggle on the part of Kim Jong-un‘s leadership.
