Lebanon vs. Qatar, 4th FIBA Asia Cup 2012 - 20 September 2012

> Lebanon men’s national basketball team, in the FIBA Asia Cup 2012 in Tokyo has been determined. Lebanon will face tough opponent Qatar for quarterfinals round on Thursday, September 20

The 4th FIBA Asia Cup, formerly Stankovic Cup, will kick off starting on September 14 until September 22, 2012 at Ota Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan.


In the FIBA Asia Championship, Lebanon finished 2nd three times (2001, 2005 and 2007), losing twice in the final to China and once to Iran, respectively. They participated in the 2006 FIBA World Championship in Japan, the second time they qualified for the tournament (First was in 2002). During that tournament, they managed to beat France and Venezuela but lost to Serbia and Montenegro, Nigeria and Argentina in the first round, finishing in 5th place out of the six to be eliminated.

 The match between Qatar vs Lebanon will be held on September 20,2012 in Tokyo, Japan at 4:30 p.m. (GMT +0900 Hrs)
