Cebu provincial governor Gwendolyn “Gwen” Garcia on Monday, May 14, 2012 revealed in a cable program her plan to seek for a national public office come elections next year.
On “Mornings @ANC,” Garcia said she had an option to run for congress but thought that she can serve the people better in the senate.
Garcia said that she will run for senator in 2013. Her brother, Cebu representative Pablo John Garcia will run for Cebu governor.
Garcia also said that she hopes to be included in the senatorial line up of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA), the coalition of former President Joseph Estrada’s Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) and Vice President Jejomar Binay’s Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).
She added that she’s had talks with Binay and Erap.
