Spurs Take Game 2 of West Finals (2012 NBA Playoffs)

>
Thanks to point guard Tony Parker’s excellent shooting and passing, the San Antonio Spurs beat the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder at the AT&T Center on May 29, to win Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.

San Antonio dominated the game and led by as much as 22 points, but it was sliced down to 10 as Oklahoma guard Russell Westbrook successfully made some three point shots late in the third quarter and used his speed and body control to score some layups early in the fourth period.

The momentum shifted to Thunder’s side in mid-4th quarter when they converted into points turnovers off a couple of missed three-points shots by the Spurs who somehow lost their rhythm. But Parker brought his team back into the game with long shots starting at 4 minutes remaining in the last period.

Manu Ginóbili also stepped up and added some points in the fourth, including a shot beyond the arc, for a total of 20 points in the entire game.Parker had 34 points.
With Tuesday’s victory, San Antonio now leads their best-of-seven series 2-0.

Game 3 takes place at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in downtown Oklahoma City on Thursday, May 31 (Friday, June 1 in Philippines). Get the full schedule here.
