Report from ABS-CBN News:

MANILA, Philippines -- Based on actor John Lloyd Cruz's box office record, his latest movie, "Unofficially Yours," with Angel Locsin should prove to be another crowd-drawer.

Cruz is already the all-time box office king based on the grosses of his previous films.

Six movies starring Cruz are on the list of all-time top local films shown in the Philippines, according to figures from Box Office Mojo -- more than any other actor. In fact, Cruz's films occupy the third to seventh spots on the list.

"You Changed My Life," released in 2009, earned P225.2 million and is Cruz's biggest hit. The romantic-comedy film, which also stars singer-actress Sarah Geronimo, is at No. 3 in the list, after last year's “The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin" (No. 1 with P331.5 million) and "No Other Woman" (No. 2 with P282.5 million).

At No. 4 in the all-time hit list is "A Very Special Love." The 2008 release, which first paired Cruz with Geronimo, made P179. 3 million.

Two films with Cruz and long-time screen partner Bea Alonzo are also in the list. "One More Chance" is at No. 5 with P152.8 million, while "Miss You Like Crazy" is at No. 7 with P143 million.

Cruz's team-up with host-actress Toni Gonzaga, "My Amnesia Girl," landed at the No. 6 spot after it earned P144.8 million in 2010.

Even when Cruz was cast against type as a gay young man, fans still trooped to watch "In My Life," which starred Batangas Governor Vilma Santos and her son Luis Manzano. The film, which earned acting awards for Cruz, is the tenth biggest Filipino film of all time with gross revenues of P135.7 million.

Successful premiere
Cruz's box-office record bodes well for "Unofficially Yours," the Valentine's offering of Star Cinema. The film opens today in theaters nationwide after its successful premiere on Valentine's Day at SM Megamall in Ortigas.

Locsin, herself, is no box-office slouch. Her movie, "In the Name of Love," also made a killing in the box office last year. Her teamup with actor Aga Muhlach earned P117.2 million and is at No. 13 in the all-time hit list.

At the premiere, Cruz and Locsin hoped that their movie will be another box-office hit as they extended their appreciation for the support of their fans.

"Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng pumunta at nanuod ng #ÜnOfficiallyYours premiere!☺ salamat po talaga :)," Locsin said in her official Twitter account.

The film, which was graded B by Cinema Evalution Board, tells the story of a casual relationship, which, according to Locsin, many movie fans can relate with.
