This move to upgrade their speed was a result of recent studies and survey by Nielsen-Yahoo that a vast majority of Filipino internet users are accessing through home connections, with hours spent online at home increased to more than doubled in two years with more than 10 hours spent online in 2011 from 4.8 hours in 2009. Besides social networking, online access was used on search engine sites, online messaging, emails and gaming.
“Residential subscribers are now heavy users of internet with all the new content they can access online. These series of speed upgrades will allow our customers the speed they now require but at the same price” said Dan C. Ibarra, PLDT Home marketing head.
This is good news to all PLDT MyDSL users. Among all of the internet service providers I have tried so far – Bayan DSL, Smart Bro Canopy, Smart Bro Plug-it Postpaid and Prepaid, Sun Broadband Post-paid Plug-it, and PLDT MyDSL (as our home internet service provider), I was most satisfied with the latter.
