The Walking Dead finale watched by 9 million viewers

> The Walking Dead, according to Nielsen, had nine million viewers tuned-in during its Season 2 finale, making it the highest rated and the most viewed episode in AMC history.


Based on the series of comic books of the same title by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard and developed for television by Frank Darabont, The Walking Dead Season 2 premiered on October 16, 2011 and ended on March 18, 2012.

AMC’s president Charlie Collier reportedly said, “Congratulations to everyone associated with AMC's ‘The Walking Dead’ and thank you to the fans for creating, literally, record-setting television.”

Earlier this year, AMC announced that The Walking Dead Season 3, which is expected to premiere on October 14, will contain sixteen episodes.

In the Philppines, the series is shown on Fox cable channel.
