Iloilo Airport Fire, Power Failure Cause Cancelled Flights, Stranded Passengers (Philippines)

> Power outage at the Iloilo International Airport due to fire at its power plant has caused several cancelled flights on Tuesday, May 1, 2012. Thousands of passengers were stranded.



Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) spokesperson Joy Songsong reportedly said the fire was possibly caused by a short circuit of the power plant’s Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS).

Songsong said at least 18 flights were cancelled, according to reports.
